Tisch Hospital, with 705-beds, is NYU Langone Health’s flagship hospital, drawing patients from the community and around the world. Opened in 1963 as University Hospital, it was renamed Tisch Hospital in 1989 in recognition of two prominent and generous benefactors -- Laurence A. and Preston Robert Tisch.

Today Tisch Hospital provides a continuity of care for its patients and boasts 66 operating rooms, a 32-bed state-of-the art critical care unit, the Lui Wang Women’s Pavillion, an electrophysiology suite for the innovative care of cardiac arrhythmias, dedicated pediatric areas and a maternity and neo-natal intensive care unit for its tiniest patients.
